Summit Women’s & Wellness Medical Group Practice Policy on Public Reviews and Provider Responses

At Summit Women’s & Wellness Medical Group, we respect our patients’ right to share feedback about their experience, whether positive or negative. We value transparency and use patient feedback to continually improve our services. However, as a medical practice, we must also ensure that information shared publicly about our services is accurate and not misleading to current or future patients.

How We Respond to Online Reviews

To protect patient privacy and confidentiality, our practice adheres to the following guidelines:

  1. We will never disclose new protected health information (PHI) about a patient online.
  2. If a patient identifies themselves publicly as a patient of our practice, they have voluntarily waived confidentiality over the information they disclosed.
  3. If a review contains factually incorrect statements, the practice may respond publicly to correct the misinformation, but will limit the response exclusively to:
    • Information the patient already publicly disclosed
    • Clarifications about general office policies
    • Statements necessary to prevent reputational harm
  4. Responses will be professional, factual, and respectful.

This policy is consistent with guidance from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) stating that providers may respond publicly to patient reviews as long as no new PHI is revealed.

We will not engage in arguments, shaming, or retaliation. Our goal is always to maintain accuracy and integrity while protecting patient rights.
